Developmental Services

Special Support Services enable individuals with special needs to fully integrate in and become participating members of our community. We take pride in ensuring that the people we support, who have developmental and/or other disabilities, are making their own choices whenever possible, thus allowing them to have a self-directed quality of life. We make a life-time commitment to individuals with disabilities who choose to be supported by the Corporation.

Mills Community Support Corporation’s Special Support Services calls for a future where all people, young and old, including those with developmental and/or other disabilities, are fully integrated in, and participating members of their community. In 2006-2007 we successfully transitioned a number of individuals from the Rideau Regional Centre into group living arrangements. Mills Community Support has also been an active participant in the Transitional Aged Youth Initiative, which supports individuals moving out of the children’s welfare system into the Developmental Services Sector, once they reach 18 years of age.
