CARP Information Open House – “Toward an Age-Friendly Lanark”
CARP is interested in starting a chapter in Lanark County.
CARP, Mills Community Support Corporation (MCSC) and the Town of Carleton Place are sponsoring an open house on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street, from 4:00-7:00 pm.
Everyone is invited to come out, get involved, and celebrate the good news about aging in Lanark County, and to learn more about CARP and the services provided Mills Community Support.
This will be of particular interest to people who are interested in starting a CARP chapter in their community, want to volunteer or become a member of CARP, support advocacy and want to get involved with their community and support new initiatives.
Topics will include: Age-Friendly Communities; What CARP is doing to change the way people are aging in Canada.
Guest Speaker is Janet Gray, member of the Age Friendly Ottawa Steering Committee and an active member of CARP’s Ottawa chapter.

CARP is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to changing the way people are aging in Canada. It is a membership driven organization with over 400,000 members across Canada. Mills Community Support Corporation (MSCS) is a multi-service organization assisting over 1,000 people throughout Lanark County with specialized supportive housing, non-profit housing, and home support services. These services assist individuals, young families and seniors who may be economically disadvantaged, as well as people of all ages who require support, to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.
